Electronic grade ammonium fluoride

Ammonium fluoride is an ionic compound. It is white or colorless transparent orthorhombic crystal at room temperature, slightly sour. It is easy to deliquescence and decompose into ammonia and hydrogen fluoride when heated or in hot water. Decompose in hot water and the aqueous solution is strongly acidic. It is obtained by neutralizing anhydrous hydrofluoric acid with liquid ammonia. It can corrode glass and is corrosive to skin. It can be used as chemical reagent, glass etchant (used in combination with hydrofluoric acid), disinfectant and preservative in fermentation industry, solvent for preparing metal beryllium from beryllium oxide and surface treatment agent of silicon steel plate. It can also be used in the manufacture of ceramics and magnesium alloys, scale removal and elution of boiler feed water system and steam generation system, acid treatment of oil field sand and gravel, and as catalyst components of alkylation and isomerization.
